Linda Heathcoat Amory works in London and Devon where she finds inspiration for many of her paintings.
She attended the Byam Shaw and Camberwell Schools of Art before studying printmaking at The Royal College of Art. She was a technician at Hornsey College, where she had her first exhibition, and then trained as a prints and drawings conservator, later being employed by the Petersburg Press to restore their contemporary prints, drawings and books.
In 1985 she showed her paintings at David Ker Fine Art, and in 1995, 2004 and 2011 she had exhibitions at Jonathan Clark Fine Art in London.
Linda was a trustee of the Monument Trust from 2003 to 2018 and was a trustee of the Royal Drawing School from 2004.
"These recent paintings and drawings are based on travels in India and my life in Devon, in my studio and outdoors. What connects them is my interest in special trees and how they behave, particularly the contrast between the natural world and modern life. So I have been taking a closer look at places I have visited many times before including Jodhpur, Kerala in south India, and North Devon. The whole experience has been a pleasure for me, I hope you will enjoy looking at them."
