Kate Hopkins is a London based artist. She trained at the Slade School of Fine Art where she was awarded the Boise Travel Scholarship, the Elizabeth Greenshields Award and the Duveen Travel Scholarship.
Hopkins paints from observation; scrutinising objects against their surroundings, often returning to the same subject, a particular jug or flower. The rich colour and loose yet controlled mark-making instil her paintings with a unmistakably heightened tension.
